Quick Feet Fun Day a Huge Success!
The first ever Quick Feet Fun Day saw a total of seven 2006 and 2007 spring AAA teams converge on the Town of Walkerton to play some fast paced, action packed, hockey.
There were three teams in the 2007 Minor Novice division. The HTA Lightning from Stratford, The Collingwood Blue Thunder from Collingwood and the Quick Feet 2007 team all squared off against one another to kick off their spring seasons. The Quick Feet Minor Novices split their two games with a 5-1 victory over the Collingwood Blue Thunder and a 5-2 loss against the HTA Lightning.
The 2006 Major Novice division consisted of four teams. The Maitland Ice Sharks North from Owen Sound & area, the Maitland Ice Sharks South from the Minto and Drayton areas, The Collingwood Blue Thunder from Collingwood and the 2006 Quick Feet team. The Quick Feet Major Novices won all three of their games, beating the Maitland Ice Sharks South 1-0 in an early morning matchup, then winning 5-0 against the Collingwood Blue Thunder and wrapping their day up with a 3-2 come from behind win, against the Maitland Ice Sharks North team.
The event brought some very talented youth to the Walkerton area for the day and was huge success. Pizza sales by Frankies Restaurant in the main lobby saw $110 raised for the Canadian Tire JumpStart program. From every $5 pizza slice and pop combo sold, $1 was donated directly to the JumpStart program. Another $6.70 was raised through donated change, which brought the total donation value to the JumpStart program to $116.70.
Quick Feet would like to thank our Tournament Sponsors which included Canadian Tire, Leslie Motors, Best Western Plus, The Lighthouse Inn, OnePromo, Frankies Restaurant & Pub, The Pita Pit and Johnny K Sports for their valued support. Without these sponsors this event would not have been possible.
