Great Season - Minor PeeWees!
The coaching staff would like to congratulate players of the Quick Feet Minor PeeWee team. Clearly, the odds were stacked against our players at an elite ‘AAA’ level of competition. Most teams that we faced were comprised exclusively of experienced ‘AAA’ players, recruited from highly successful winter teams. However, despite overwhelming odds, our boys responded. They learned and adapted, giving everything they had, and then some. Additionally, they experienced what the game of hockey could be; many setting new personal goals for themselves.
During the short spring season, the coaching staff’s goal was to raise the level of play for each and every player. Many players were asked to play a style of game that was completely foreign to them; hard hitting, aggressive, and tough. Many were asked to play systems of defence, break-out, and attack that were also completely new to them. The learning curve was very steep! To be frank, the growth of most of our players was nothing short of phenomenal!
We are very proud of our Quick Feet players! It is our wish that our players carry their intensity into the 2009 – 2010 winter season, and lead their team mates to a new level of play. Finally, we certainly look forward to building on this year’s experiences next spring.
