Novice AAA Defeat Blue Thunder
By Karen Aljoe: Wasaga Beach - The Quick Feet Novice “AAA” team travelled to Wasaga Beach on Sunday May 23rd for a rematch with Collingwood.  It may have been warm outside but the boys showed they came to play hockey winning 6-3.  Kyle Durrer came out strong in the first scoring two goals, fooling the goalie on the blocker side with both.  The first goal was assisted by Brendan Gallaher.  On the second, Dawson Fahrer received a pass from Sam Bye and found Kyle with a perfect pass up the middle sending him in to bury the puck.

Blue Thunder came alive near the end of the first to score one goal to make it 2-1.  Quick Feet dominated in the second period scoring three goals to take a 5-1 lead.  Tyson Lina notched one with a hard shot assisted by Sam Bye.  Mark Aljoe scored on a nice pass from Nathan Ahrens and Jordon Ferrier.  Tyler Calhoun and Lina set Tyson Hutcheson up for a nice goal which found its way in under the crossbar.

The third period found Quick Feet taking some penalties allowing Blue Thunder to score.  Aljoe answered back with one in the five hole set up by Ahrens to go ahead 6-2.  Blue Thunder slipped one in with a little more than a minute left in the game.  Quick Feet managed to hold them for a 6-3 victory.  Matthew Donnelly and Morgan Troyer shared goaltending duties both stopping lots of rubber. The team showed their skills and determination in this game.  Great back checking, aggressive play and good passing helped them win this match.

The boys travel to Toronto June 4th for their last tournament of the spring season.  They are geared up to bring home another championship trophy.  Keep up the great team work boys!
