98's Get 1st Taste of Exhibition Play
The 98's got their 1st taste of exhibition AAA hockey this spring on Wednesday night when the Maitland Ice Sharks visited the Walkerton Arena.

Our lads came out of the gate real strong with very good puck pursuit.  The play was back and forth from end to end until mid-way through the 1st when # 16 Justin Donnelly put Quick Feet on the scoreboard assisted by # 98 Cole Hodgins.  Maitland struck back to tie the game at 5:06 and then Quick Feet responded to take the lead 2-1.  # 16 Justin Donnelly scored his 2nd of the game assisted by # 77 Bryce Fletcher.

Maitland fought back to tie and then took the lead in the 2nd period.  The difference in the game was lack of discipline for Quick Feet.  We were penalized 7 times and most were of the lazy variety.  2 of those penalties resulted in power play goals by Maitland.  The boys know they need to maintain better discipline to ensure we can compete.

Overall the 1st game of the season showed that our team is improved over last season and that we can compete at this level.  We had strong performances from our goaltenders, Braeden Ellis and Kallen Macumber.  Our forwards pursued the puck and back-checked well. Jorden Reaman, Jordan Waddell, James Whidden, Owen Riegling, Bryce Fletcher, Derick Acheson, Owen Routheut, Justin Donnelly and Cole Hodgins.  Our defense played strong and moved the puck very well.  Braeden Marshall, Nic Whiteside, Tyler Sutter and Collin Zettler.  We had two players missing from this game.  Logan Freiburger and Owen O'Donnell.

Good start Quick Feet 98's.  With 4 good practices prior to our first tournament, we will be ready and eager to show our fans how good we can be.
