Quick feet 5 – Zone Training 1
In a return match from less than a week ago. The Quick Feet Minor Atoms took to the ice in Tavistock to take on Zone Training from Waterloo. The focus of the game was to get back to basics – hard work and team work.

Poor ice conditions and a net without moorings, along with a warm puck made hard work imperative this night. It was a slow start again but the team quickly recovered and picked up the pace and started to utilize their speed which created many chances. Unfortunately, because of the ice conditions, the bouncing and sticky puck made it difficult to finish off may skilled plays.

The second period started 0-0 but hard work started to pay off as strong back checking by some of the forwards created many turn over’s resulting in odd man rushes going the other way.  These chances were finally capitalized on as Quick Feet was able to find the back of the net 2 times before the period would end. A strong defense hemmed the Zone team to just a few good scoring opportunities that the goalies handled with majestic composure.

The third period saw the Quick Feet team continued to improve on their work ethic and fire 3 more goals into the net versus the Zone’s loan goal of the game, ending the game in a 5-1 final.
