98's Season Wraps Up
The Quick Feet 98's have finished another spring AAA hockey season.  When we first set the team, we all had very high hopes and expectations for this group.  For the most part they didn't disappoint.  We were in every game and played some tough opponents very well.  Our downfall continues to be scoring goals.

Our goaltending was the strongest it has been in our 4 seasons.  Kallen (Pickle) Macumber massively improved his game and was among the best goalies we saw in our 3 tournaments.  Craig (Lui) Luinstra was also very solid in net in every game he played.  Our goalies gave us a chance to win each and every time out and that's what you ask for.

The defense was made up of 5 big solid guys and the Muffin Man!  As a group they were very aggressive and the opposing players knew they were in for a tough game against these d-men.  Braeden (Marsh) Marshall used his quickness and strength to punish opponents.  Jorden (Hub) Hubbard played very physical in his 1st year with Quick Feet.  Collin (Zett) Zettler played a solid puck moving game.  Derick (Ach) Acheson used his "CANNON" from the point when he got the chance and was instrumental in dressing room entertainment. Matt (Wayward) Hayward was a force to be reckoned with.  His skills and abilities were very much improved.  And the "Muffin Man", Tyler (Muffin) Sutter caught several players with his patented hip check and let them know that he may not be the biggest, but he makes you pay!

Our 3 lines came up with names for themselves and they were CRASH, DIRTY DANGLERS, and SBT.  (We cannot expand upon the initials)  Our Crash forwards were Logan (Yogi) Freiburger, Cole (Hodgie) Hodgins and Nic (Whitey) Whiteside.  These 3 were definitely "snake bitten" around the net.  They usually outchanced the other team significantly, but had trouble converting.  Hodgie played a rough and tumble game while Yogi and Whitey played a smart forecheck and positional style.

The Dirty Danglers were made up of Justin (Hound Dog) Donnelly, Jorden (Reams) Reaman and Nick (Fozzy) Foster.  The Hound Dog was just that, he was like a dog on a bone after the puck.  Reams played the perimeter and slid in to position to score the goals.  Fozzy used his stick-handling skills to make the opposition dizzy before dishing off the puck to Reams.

SBT had 3 somewhat crazy forwards on their line.  Owen (O'Dog) O'Donnell centered this line and was like a shark circling for the big hit all the time.  Hayden (Chirpy) Duplantis was a new addition to the team that never seemed to be at a loss for words.  He was part of the entertainment crew no matter where we were.  And the "Big Man" Devin Perdue was like poetry in motion on the ice?!  Big Man was also a very influential part of the entertainment crew for the team.

Our Coaching Staff was made up of 3 very dedicated people.  All 3 of us were constantly coaching in practices and games to help bring the best out in our players.  Thanks to Kevin and Rod for all their help.  (Although Kevin said Rod was never around when there was work to be done!)

I want to thank all the players, parents, and fans for your support this year.  I am confident that all of our players learned some things and had a whole lot of fun.  Plans are already underway for our 5th season next year.  Please take some time and give me some feedback on the year and what we could do differently next year.

Thanks
Terry
