Quick Feet Battle Rhinos
The 2002 Quick Feet boys played another exhibition game on Saturday of the long weekend.  The opponent for this weekend was the Rhinos.  These teams played 3 periods of 18 minutes followed by 3 shoot out challenges.

Quick Feet started off where they left off last weekend with lots of pressure on the Rhinos.  Quick Feet were very aggressive on the pursuit of the puck and did not give the Rhinos an opportunity to mount any type of attack.  Around the 10 minute mark of the first period Quick Feet struck first on the power play.  Nathan Naves with some hard work behind the Rhinos net, off a Connor Maxwell point shot, sent a pass to an open Luke Eurig who backhanded a shot under the goalie.  Quick Feet didn’t stop there and four minutes later Brody Leblanc and Gavin Mikazco forced the Rhino’s defense to cough up the puck behind their net allowing Owen Rahn to catch the Rhino’s goalie off guard as he tucked one in on the wrap around.  Quick Feet continued to dominate the first allowing Quick Feet to remain ahead by two after the first.  The Rhinos went on the aggressive in the second and it paid off around the 12-minute mark of the second when they notched their first of the game on a scramble in front of the net.  That was it for the second.  The third period was exciting to watch for all in attendance.  Rhinos continued to create more offense but Quick Feet defense and goalie Caden Prues were there to shut them down.  With three minutes left in the game, a questionable call put the Rhinos on the power play.  Quick Feet played a tough penalty kill but with 1:43 left in the game the Rhinos evened the score with another goalmouth scramble.  Quick Feet were not going to settle with a tie on this day.  For the last minute and a half Quick Feet were all over the Rhinos in search of the winning goal.  Jaden Goldie and Brody Leblanc were throwing everything at the net and with 1 second left on the clock Owen Rahn picked up a rebound at the side of the net and lifted it up an over the blocker of the fallen Rhinos goalie and into the net.  The referee signaled goal and the fans went wild!  Quick Feet win 3-2.

The fun didn’t end there.  There was still time for a shoot-out challenge.  The challenge was simple, first team to score 10 goals wins.  Both goalies were outstanding!  Twenty-five minutes later Quick Feet won the first round, Rhinos won the second round and Quick Feet won the tiebreaker.

Great team effort throughout.  Keep up the hard work!
