Great Moments Are Born From Great Opportunities
As the steady pace of spring transitions to summer, most kids would prefer to ride their bikes, kick a soccer ball, play a game of hide and seek or look forward to weekends at the beach with mom and dad.  One would think that worrying about when they will have the next opportunity to play hockey would be the furthest thing from an 8 year old's mind on a 30 degree day in June.  That is unless, that 8 year old, plays spring hockey for the Minor Novice Quick Feet team.

A quote from the late American hockey coach Herb Brooks, "Great Moments Are Born From Great Opportunities" can be applied to the many facets of life, not just hockey.

When we have the opportunity to connect with a great group of individuals, doing the things in life we are most passionate about, we are privileged to be a part of great moments.

As I sit back and reflect on the past two months, there are many great memories that I will take away from the short time that our team had the opportunity to spend together.  The group of players, team staff and parents made every minute spent at the arena worthwhile.

I have never met a group of 7 & 8 year old boys who played any sport with as much enthusiasm, determination and heart as this group.

I know there were a few tears from some of the kids after our final game this past weekend in London.  When I asked a them why they were sad, I found out that it wasn't because we had lost the semi-final game though.  They were mostly upset because it meant our Quick Feet season was over.

When a player on your team asks "how many days until Quick Feet tryouts start again?", literally only hours after playing the last game of the season, you know they must have had a fun time..........................by the way it is about 298 days, for those of you that are counting.

I thought I would take a moment to thank the players, team staff and parents for making this season so much fun to be a part of.

I am truly thankful for all of the great memories.

See everybody at our team banquet. We will be in touch with the details shortly.
