Dunny's Stonetown Classic Finalists
The Quick Feet Major Novices headed back to St. Mary's and Stratford for the May long weekend, to take on South Western Ontario's best at the Dunny's Stonetown Classic Tournament.

The 06's started the weekend by playing the powerhouse Vision team who eliminated them from the Thunder Spectacular in the semi-finals, less than a week prior.  Quick Feet held the score to 2-1 until midway through the 2nd period.  Vision blew the game open by netting two quick goals late in the 2nd period.  They added a fifth in the 3rd to take the game 5-1.

The Quick Feet major novices rallied early in their 2nd game against the Pitbulls tallying 6 goals by the midway point of the 2nd period. They added two more early in the 3rd before a panel of plexi-glass shattered with just under 7 mins left in the 3rd, ending the game early.  The final score would be recorded as an 8-0 victory.

On Saturday they blew through the Dunny's home team 6-0 and team Compete's 10-1, earning the 06's a birth in the semi-final against the Pitbulls.  Quick Feet wrestled the Pitbulls and took them to the dog pound with a dominating 8-3 win.

The victory earned them a spot in the Championship Final for a re-match against Vision.  The major novices fought hard and kept the score to 3-1 heading into the third period.  The 06's simply ran out of gas in the third as they went on to suffer an 8-1 loss.  It was a tough pill to swallow for the major novices, but the boys should hold their heads high.

The Quick Feet Major Novice coaching staff is very proud of the effort the boys showed this weekend.  They played hard, had a ton of fun and gave every ounce of energy they had to give.  This group of players is simply a pleasure to coach and it is a lot of fun to watch such a talented team play as hard and show as much respect for the game as these boys do. Great job team!

The 06's get a bit of a break to regroup and refocus their energy for their final tournament of the spring season, the Blue Thunder Cup being held in Collingwood, May 29-31st.  The 2006 team took home silver in the 2014 Blue Thunder Cup after losing the championship game in 5OT.  This year they will look to bring home the gold and the Blue Thunder Cup championship title.  Go Quick Feet Go!
