Blue Thunder Cup Finalists
The 2006 Minor Atom team wrapped up their impressive spring season this afternoon in Collingwood and lost a close game to a good Ottawa Valley Elite team.

The 06`s played well this weekend and sailed through the preliminary round and put out the home team in the early morning semi-final game Sunday morning.

Despite already beating the Ottawa Valley team in Game #4 by a score of 6-2, Quick Feet got off to a tough start in the Championship game by letting the Elite's score twice in the first period.  The minor atoms couldn't seem to get any puck luck through most of the game.  A few late third period chances saw Quick Feet draw within 1, then hit a post and crossbar with less than 30 seconds remaining and the goalie pulled.  An offensive end draw with 10 seconds remaining saw the 06's nearly tie the game as the puck slid just wide of the open side of the net.

It was a tough loss for the minor atoms, but this team has so much to be proud of.  They managed to win 2 tournaments this year in back-to-back weekends and are now the Blue Thunder Cup Finalists.

This team posted some very impressive statistics going 21-2-1 on the spring season and outscoring their opponents 144-28 in those 24 games.

They also had just as much fun off the ice.  This group of kids is an absolute pleasure to coach.  They all get along so well and every time they get together it is like they haven't seen eachother in years, even if it has only been a few days.

Great job this season boys. The coaches and parents are proud of all you were able to accomplish.  We hope to see you all back at tryouts again next spring!
