Our first tournament was a success!!!

Showing up to Canlan Ice was exciting and nerve racking all at once! Being a new team we weren’t sure what to expect. We knew we would meet up with well established teams, and we knew that our group of boys were completely capable of working hard and working together to conquer games. We had 8 teams in our division and our main goal to the boys, the team and the parents was to walk away at the end of the tournament a stronger team and be more prepared for the next tournament.  We were all nervously excited to see them finally play games! The first game we played the nordiques and was a close game went back and forth most of them game, but our boys ended up pulling a win 3-2. Later on that night we played the South Coast Generals we were offensive, defending our zone and kept the plays in the opponents end for most of the 2 and third period. The boys pulled another win 6-3. Saturday brought us playing a well established team of 5+ years and mainly elite hockey level the LCH rangers were skilled, and played well as a team it was apparent in their passing they beat us 4-3.

we were all very proud to reach the consolation finals- we honestly never expected this our first tournament, we had 8 teams in our division and all were very well trained teams; moving into the gold consolation game against the nordiques we were proud and ready to work. The first period the boys were nervous but they overcame it and starting playing strong, passing , playing the offensive defensive lines; playing most of the second in the opponents zone the boys won 4-1 taking third overall.

Our player of the games were :
Lincoln Lamont
Jayden Crowe
Hudson Eaglesen
Bradley Steffen
Carter Shoemaker

we racked up a total of 17 goals.. some short-handed!

We can’t wait to see what the boys do at our second tournament at Memorial Classic.... lets go Blue!
