Girls 2010/2011 U13, 2022 (Quick Feet Hockey)

The U13 spring hockey experience has come to an end. After playing 12 games and having a record of 3-8-1. The final was a win to claim the consolation championship at the Battle of Toronto held at the Canlan centre York university. The cost of $200 hotel rooms, $20 meals, $2.00 gas does add up. But the new friendships forged by both players and parents PRICELESS.

Tuesday found the U13 team on the ice in Owen Sound for a practice. After a slow warm up the girls found their stride and had a spirited practice. Working  on forechecking they gave Coach Shawn a few good rub outs against the boards. After practice it was off to Sundays ice cream parlour for some ice cream and some good old chatter. Friday we are off to Canlan York for the final tournament of the year.  Good luck ladies.

The team had an interesting and fun weekend at the Canlan tournament. Playing 5 games losing 3 games by 1 goal. There is no U13 group for us to play against in the Niagara Falls tournament. So we are entered into the York Canlan tournament the first weekend in June.

Tuesday night the team gathered at the Quick Feet training centre in Hanover. The girls had a spirited workout. Working on their skating and shot making. Friday they are off to the Canlan tournament in Toronto. First game is Friday 1pm. Monday evening Walkerton arena was the site for the rematch game. A good turn out of spectaculars we’re treated to a very competitive game. The Mustangs brought their complete team that will be competing next year as U13.  The teams traded some good scoring chances but were foiled by some good goaltending. After 35 minutes of back and forth action the final score a was an entertaining 0/0 dead lock. The next action for the Quick Feet will be at the Canlan tournament starting May 13 in Toronto.
