Hello all,
Welcome to the spring tryouts for age group 2011. I will be the head coach this year. As of now, Sean Burton and Chris Messerschmidt will be assistant coaches. Once tryouts are completed and the team is picked, I will be looking for a team manager. If any parents are available to come on the ice for the tryouts, please let me know. Also, please let me know if you can't make any of the tryouts.
Things I will be looking at over our 3 tryout sessions are: Shooting, stickhandling and skating- The drills I have in place will bring out these strengths in the kids.
Passing, game play and hardwork- We will have a scrimmage at every tryout. I will be looking at game play which will focus on how hard the kids work up and down the ice, teamwork, clean aggressive play and passing. For me, these are crucial and a must!
When you show up tomorrow, I will have a list of kids and what color jersey they will be wearing. The kids will be split into two teams.
