Minor Peewee, 2009 (Quick Feet Hockey)

In preparation for the upcoming spring hockey season, we will be running a pre-season development camp for the '96 & '97 age group. The primary focus of the camp will be break-outs, attack strategies, attack triangulation, neutral zone regrouping, and heads-up game play. Skill development will focus on quick feet, stick handling, and passing. The pace and tempo of this camp will be appropriately geared for 'AAA" level play; this is not a learn to skate program. The coaching staff would like to congratulate players of the Quick Feet Minor PeeWee team. Clearly, the odds were stacked against our players at an elite ‘AAA’ level of competition. Most teams that we faced were comprised exclusively of experienced ‘AAA’ players, recruited from highly successful winter teams. However, despite overwhelming odds, our boys responded. They learned and adapted, giving everything they had, and then some. Additionally, they experienced what the game of hockey could be; many setting new personal goals for themselves.

Special congratulations to the young men who showed their character and skills, and are now part of the Quick Feet '97 team. The coaching staff looks forward to the team building and skill development ahead. For those of you that are trying out for a 2009 - 2010 Winter AAA team in the coming weeks, the coaching staff wishes you the best of luck. If you show the coaches the strong effort, skills, and "heads up" play that you showed in our try-outs, we are confident that you will be strong contenders for a position.
