Quick Feet '96 PeeWees bring home the Toronto Cup!!

The Quick Feet Major PeeWee team travelled to Toronto this weekend to compete in the CanLan Toronto Cup and came home victorious.

Under the direction of head coach Craig Shaw and assistant coaches Mark Taylor and Keith Robertson the team rallied together for their first tournament like a team that had played together all year.

The first game on Friday had the team pitted against the Mississauga Young Guns.  After testing the waters and a hard fought battle the boys tucked their first win under their belts 1-0 awarding a shut out for goalie Cam Harron.  The next game put the action late in the night against a team from North Bay.  The boys took control of that game and never looked back coming out with a 6-3 win.

Saturday morning the Quick Feet PeeWees faced off against the Collingwood Blue Thunder.  With the score seesawing back and forth the team pulled ahead and with some key saves from goalie Jacob Locking the team was awarded a 3-2 win.  With just a short break between games the boys regrouped and rose to  the challenge of winning all their preliminary games by beating the Wave Jr Cougars 4-2 and securing first place and a spot in the Elite AAA Championship game on Sunday.

The Championship game brought the boys back to face the North Bay Trappers again who took a quick 1-0 lead.  With a solid effort the Quick Feet PeeWees answered that goal and added another.  The forwards and defence fought with all they had to maintain that lead and were ultimately rewarded with the championship title.  Final score 2-1.

Congratulations to the team and coaches for earning the title of Toronto Cup Champions and an undefeated team record.
