Novice, 2012 (Quick Feet Hockey)

The 03 team came early and played hard on Sat but still came out on the short end of the score in their first game. With the boys sporting war paint faces in game 2 thanks to Kelly the fight was on. With the game still within reach a penalty shot call against the 03 took the wind out of their sails when the HTA player slid the puck into the net. The boys fought back and scored 2 goals but came up short. All and all a very productive 2 months. Players, parents and coaches all would like to thank Terry Whiteside for his assistance.

The 03 took to the ice Fri at 7pm but they played like they did the first game of the spring season. Passes were virtually non existent and all team work had disappeared  like snow in May.  Hopefully after  a good night sleep the team  will awaken Sat  to play like they can.  Lets play 2 good games on Sat.

Friday at noon the 03 Quickfeet stepped on the ice against the Suburban Stars from Detroit. The local boys found themselves trailing 2-0 after the 1st period. A quick regroup between periods and the team played a scoreless 2nd period. The team starting clicking in the 3rd period and Mulder scored to narrow the score to 2-1. Even though the 03 put on good pressure late in the 3rd and a good scoring chance went just over the crossbar the end result was 2-1 for the boys from USA. Looking forward to our 7pm game tonight.

Friday saw the 03 take the ice for a long 2hr practice.  The boys were very eager after there 8-0 win over the Blue Thunder. The players are learning very quickly to pick up new drills and to put in the desired mental and physical energy to make them work. A lot of credit goes to the players as they were working as hard at the end of the practice as they were at the start. Players and coaches are looking forward to next weekend in Sarnia. Tuesday night found the quickfeet in Collingwood to play the Blue Thunder and the boys played nearly a picture perfect game. Standing on the bench I thought I must be dreaming. Ever time I was getting ready to yell pass the puck it was already on its way to another hardworking Quickfeet player.  The 03 team controlled the game from start to finish. Some TSN passing plays made for some pretty goals. The defence core and the goalie tandem turned aside all of the chances the Thunder had.  A great game by all the players. Let's keep it going.
