Novice, 2013 (Quick Feet Hockey)

And as such the 2013 edition of the Quick Feet 2004 season has come to an end. The team kept getting better every time they hit the ice and The Blue Thunder tournament was no exception.

The only thing better than a snow day off of school is a HOCKEY day off of school. Such was the case today as the team travelled to Collingwood to take part in the Blue Thunder Tournament. The boys worked hard but were not rewarded with any goals for their effort. A couple of times one more pass to an open teammate at the side of the net would have got the team on the score board. After a hard fought battle the 2004 came out on the short end of a 5-0 score. Sat morning 8.30am will find the team on the ice again.

It seems hard to imagine how attached you become to people you only met 8 weeks ago. It is only 10 days since we had our last practice but it seems longer. So lets enjoy our last weekend together and make some memories that will last us a life time.

Friday morning the team was on the ice to face the Express team. After a slow start the team was trailing 5-1 after 2 periods. Cue the come back with a renewed desire the team clawed its way back to make it 5-4 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd period. Even though the 2004 Quickfeet put on relentless pressure they could not score the equalizer. With the goalie pulled for an extra attacker the Express score in the empty net for a 6-4 final.

The second game was against another local Regional Express team the team played a better game. The Quick Feet knew they were in tough. Although they battled all game long they came out on the short end of a 7-1 score.
