Quick Feet Finish Hard in Brantford Tournament
The 2002 Quick Feet boys started off Saturday just as they did Friday morning with a great team effort against Dynamo Harrow.

Quick Feet looked to dominate this game as they jumped out to an early three-goal lead.  Jason Taylor started the scoring for Quick Feet when he feathered a shot behind the Dynamo Harrow goalie after some hard work in the slot to free himself from the defenders.  This was then followed by a pretty tic-tac-toe play when Luke Eurig finished off the passes of Brody Leblanc and Owen Rahn.  Nathan Naves added the third goal when he forced the turnover behind the Dynamo Harrow net and beat the goalie with a quick wrap around.  Dynamo Harrow managed to get one back with 30 seconds to play in the first to make the score 3-1 heading into the second.  There was no more scoring until late in the third as Quick Feet goalie Tanner Bromfield turned away the Dynamo Harrow shots.  Late in the third period Quick Feet added one more when Hale Schoneck took advantage of a fallen Dynamo Harrow defenseman in the neutral zone and skated in for a break away where he pulled it to his forehand and then put the puck off both posts and in for the goal.  Dynamo Harrow came right back with one of their own but Brody Leblanc restored the three goal lead on a nice back hand shot to the top corner after receiving a great pass from Owen Rahn.  Final score was 5-2 for Quick Feet.  Another great effort from all the players!

With two wins and one loss under their belt, the Quick Feet boys finished the round robin in 3rd place in their division, which put them in the championship side and up against the best teams in the tournament.

Their first opponent in the championship round was Regional East and they proved to be a very difficult team to play against.   The Quick Feet boys came to play and they proved it in the first with plenty of back and forth play.  Towards the end of the period Regional East caught the first break when they were awarded a penalty shot and managed to slip it by Quick Feet goalie Caden Prues. Regional East took control in the second by adding two more goals but before period end a great break away goal by Luke Eurig closed the gap to two goals heading into the third.  Despite this goal and some great saves, it wasn’t enough to shift the momentum as Regional East controlled the remainderof the game scoring two more goals in the third.  Final score was 5-1 for Regional East and eliminating Quick Feet from the tournament. Don’t feel bad about this one boys, finishing in the top six is a great accomplishment.

Next up is Stratford tournament.   Keep up the hard work!
