Quick Feet Steal Thunder Leaving Collingwood Blue
The 2002 Quick Feet boys are on to another round of exhibition games.  Next up is the Collingwood Blue Thunder.  These teams have never met before and the anticipation for their first match up was building.

Both teams played conservatively through the first period as they felt each other out, neither team wanting to give up that first goal.   The first period of play ended scoreless.   During the second period of play Quick Feet began to show signs of dominance.  At the 12 minute mark some hard work by Graham Gateman paid off as he battled along the boards to hold the puck in Blue Thunder’s zone to allow Nathan Naves to pick the puck up low, get a shot off and then scoring on his rebound.  Quick Feet were on the board.  Less than two minutes later Nathan Naves fed a nice pass to Blake Wideman who made no mistake putting the puck over the goalie’s pad and into the back of the net.  Blake Wideman didn’t stop there when 13 seconds later he scored on a one-timer from Evan Dewar.  Another two minutes after that Quick Feet would add their fourth goal in five minutes when Evan Dewar would score a weird one from behind the net as the puck somehow touched a couple of skates in a scramble and then trickled underneath the Blue Thunder’s goalie and over the goal line.  After the flood Quick Feet continued their strong play through the third period.  At the eight minute mark Quick Feet would add one more when Tatum Behan dumped the puck in off the blue line that hit the back of Nathan Naves leg, popped onto his stick and then his shot beat the goalie to the short side.   The final score was 5-0 for Quick Feet.

Great team effort throughout.  The forwards of Brody Leblanc, Blake Wideman,Owen Rahn, Nathan Naves, Justin Rogers, Graham Gateman, Evan Dewar, Jason Taylor, Adam Chittick and Dane Heipel pressed the puck all game.  The defensemen of Hale Schoneck, Coleson Fischer, Thomas Gangl, Tatum Behan, Luke Eurig and Braydon McDiarmid limited the Blue Thunder chances and the goaltender duo of Caden Prues and Tanner Bromfield turned away the shots that found the way to the net to earn the shutout

Great game!  Keep up the hard work, as we close in on the final tournament of the season.
