NOVICE QUICK FEET “AAA’ END THE SEASON AS CHAMPS
By Karen Aljoe: Scarborough - Quick Feet travelled to Scarborough for their last hockey tournament of the spring season June 4th.  In game one on Friday night we faced the familiar Collingwood Blue Thunder.  Quick Feet didn’t bring their best game to the rink coming up short 3-2.  Mark Aljoe scored the first assisted by Dawson Fahrer.  Kyle Durrer notched one from Trevor Fischer.

We had an early start on Saturday morning winning 3-0 against ADPRO (New York).  Aljoe netted two goals.  The first assisted by Brenden Hinds and Nathan Ahrens.  Tyson Hutcheson picked up the assist on the second goal.  Ahrens scored the third goal assisted by Jayce Busby.  Solid Defence by Trevor Fisher, Jayce Busby, Sam Bye, Dawson Farher, Jordon Ferrier and Drew Bell kept the ADPRO attack to a minimum but when called on Morgan Troyer turned away all shots for the shutout.

In game 3 we went head to head with the Killer Bears (Scarborough) ending in a 2-2 tie.  Our goals were scored by Hinds with help from Ahrens and Fahrer.  Tyler Calhoun notched his first of the season from Hutcheson and Tyson Lina. Matthew Donnelly was stellar in net making big saves when they were needed the most.

An early start on Sunday morning proved to be too much for the boys loosing to Northumberland Hawks (Franford) 4-1.  Ahrens and Hinds helped Aljoe score the only goal.  The loss left us to play again that afternoon against ADPRO (New York). The boys knew they had to win this to bring home the hardware.  ADPRO started the scoring in the first but Ahrens answered back with a wrist shot hitting the underside of the crossbar, that was set up by nice pass from Thomas Brown, making it a 1-1 tie.  The second period ADPRO found themselves shorthanded many times as they were getting frustrated trying to beat us to the puck.  At the end of the second Lina crashed the net unassisted to go ahead 2-1.  They answered back at the 8 minute mark of the third.  But with 3:51 on the clock, Aljoe broke up the right wing fighting off three attackers deeking the goalie for the 3-2 win and the Championship.

Thanks to the coaching staff for an awesome season.  They helped the boys to develop and improve their game in just two short months.  The boys should be proud of themselves for their hard work and commitment to the team.  They made new friendships and memories to last a lifetime.
