Novice, 2010 (Quick Feet Hockey)

Congratulations to the Novice AAA Quick Feet team on a very successful spring hockey season. We had a very competitive team, a winning record and two "AA" Championships under our belt in just two short months. Not bad for a team that was just selected a short while ago without any players having AAA hockey experience.

By Karen Aljoe: Scarborough - Quick Feet travelled to Scarborough for their last hockey tournament of the spring season June 4th.  In game one on Friday night we faced the familiar Collingwood Blue Thunder.  Quick Feet didn’t bring their best game to the rink coming up short 3-2.  Mark Aljoe scored the first assisted by Dawson Fahrer.  Kyle Durrer notched one from Trevor Fischer. 

By Karen Aljoe: Wasaga Beach - The Quick Feet Novice “AAA” team travelled to Wasaga Beach on Sunday May 23rd for a rematch with Collingwood.  It may have been warm outside but the boys showed they came to play hockey winning 6-3.  Kyle Durrer came out strong in the first scoring two goals, fooling the goalie on the blocker side with both.  The first goal was assisted by Brendan Gallaher.  On the second, Dawson Fahrer received a pass from Sam Bye and found Kyle with a perfect pass up the middle sending him in to bury the puck.

After a 4-2 win over Defasio to advance to the Championship Semi-Finals. The boys had about an hour before they would take to the ice to challenge the strong and aggressive Hamilton Elite Stars.

This game turned out to be a very important game for both teams. A win for Defazio and they would advance or a win or tie for Quick Feet and they would advance. Defazio started the game on fire and were attacking the Quick Feet team as if their hockey life depended on them winning, and it did.
