Novice AAA Quick Feet lose 8-6 to the Ice Sharks
On May 5th, 2010 the Novice AAA Quick feet team played host to the Maitland Ice Sharks for their second match-up of the season. The first period was an entertaining period with very fast pace and lots of end to end action.
The first period ended with the Ice Sharks up 2-1. Scoring for Quick Feet was Thomas Brown and assist going to Brenden Gallaher.
The second period saw the Ice Sharks taking control of the game by scoring four goals and two in the last 2 minutes of the period. The lone scorer for the Quick Feet team was Benden Hinds with Tyson Lina drawing the assist.
The third was a different story as the Quick feet boys showed a lot of character and mounted a come back with some sound team work, skating and passing. Scoring in the third for Quick feet was Mark Aljoe from Benden Hinds, Thomas Brown unassisted, Brenden Hinds from Mark Aljoe, with the final goal by Kyle Durrer from Brenden Gallaher. The score was 7-6 with less than a minute left when Quick feet pulled their goalie in favour of two extra attackers as the Ice Sharks also had a penalty. Unfortunately, the Ice Sharks won the draw in their end and rushed down to score to round out the score at 8-6. The boys showed Great team work and that they will never give up and never quit. Good effort by all!
